Dr. Clay Leathers is a West Georgia native. He knew at a young age that he wanted to help animals and graduated from the University of Georgia Veterinary School of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. While in vet school, he met his wife Valerie who is also now a veterinarian. They have 3 boys who keep them very busy with sports and all things outdoors.
Dr. Leathers came on full time with Kay Animal Hospital in July 2021 as the new Medical Director allowing Dr. James Kay to officially retire. Dr. Leathers enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine but is especially passionate about dermatology, soft tissue surgery and orthopedic surgery. He has successfully performed over 500 TPLO surgeries.
